Shot Details
The shot was taken in front of the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee. The Pfister was built in 1893 and is a historic landmark. It houses the largest hotel collection of Victorian art and has a pretty good bacon burger at the cafe inside.
I was lucky to fire off 3 shots before any cars came flying down the street or people walking by. I wanted to have something in the foreground but now see it was bad idea as the tree branches in the upper left hand corner were moving in the wind. 1/50s is just too slow of a shutter speed for doing HDR. Brownie points for whoever could make out the movement of the branches that didnt get aligned in Photomatix.
Comments and critiques welcome.
Pfister Hotel
Briefly considered staying at this hotel until I saw the price tag. One night here would cost the same as two nights at the Howard Johnson where I'm staying.
