This last week I was devoted to my PC.
She's a cruel taskmaster.
This is the layout of my photo storage methods.
I put this pic on the last page of a 17 page paper of procedural steps.
Actually it was 10 already but expanded this week to 17, doh!
It has the steps on how to return the PC to how I like it, after you run recovery.
Recovery on your PC is what you run after your PC went haywire, so you start all over.
That might seem like a tedious thing, to write 17 pages of steps on that,
and you are glad you don't have that tendency,
but at least it isn't a 17 page paper on how to grow herbs in your closet :D
So about the picture: the background describes the waters of IT (Information Technology)
and CS (Computer Science) that I tried to swim in this week.
It is sure that i will only reside on the surface in high level language,
as a "user" (photographer), the IT guys need not worry about me joining their ranks.
Discovery: I found that the goal of life in IT & CS is finding ways to turn two clicks into one,
however that activity always follows with finding more clicks to consolidate afterwards,
so im not sure if the wisdom is solid....more on that later maybe.
You see in the pic, the camera as the head of the PC, which is true, keep perspective.
SD (or CF) card captures go into the main hard drive and out to storage, the red rectangle.
They also go to permanent storage in deep waters, which is
the grey rectangle where things are seldom plugged in.
They come back for processing, the red flaming yarns :)

But I also have other flash drives too, like the one in the pic,
full of documents and tiny executable downloads...never leave home without em!
The globe unit is a little hard drive, with True Image Home software backup of the C drive,
and if it runs right (I have yet to test it, brand new software) then I can restore my C drive
with the Operating System, and put it back quickly to how it was AFTER I did the 17 pages of steps but to the condition of BEFORE it goes haywire whenever that happens next.
The DVD-ROMs are a like the globe but they wont get updated. In case of flood(Noah's).
Oh yeah, I forgot to add, it's good to back up your System State before adding patches etc.,
so that gets done for me here on the same little drive that has the image of the C drive.
Miscellaneous: The letters in the cornors of the rectangles are assigned hard drive letters,
More Miscellaity: the graphic sprinkles on the rectangles represent photos in an organizer.
During the process i decided i didn't need to buy a new OS, Windows 7. (it was tempting)
Better to get that kind of thing pre-installed if you need a new PC, I don't.
I did buy that True Image Software, price mismarked half off for $20 double yay!
Got a second internal hard drive for photos. Didn't install it yet. Could return it...
Could test the backup thingy with it too.
I read tons of stuff and played with stuff I'll never need or use again probably like:
"MS Virtual PC" and "How to make an XP install disk from your Recovery Disks".
Learned a lot, and found a lot of good online updates. I don't auto-update anything.
Saved a bundle on software bundles, beat that Geico!

To ensure that the shoe wouldn’t be too tight when I wore wool hose with them, I put on a sport sock. I taped the cardboard sole to the sock and put on a sacrificial sock over that one. The result was then wrapped with duct tape while the foot was in a natural standing position. The desired pattern was marked on the duct tape with permanent marker and cut out. Laid flat, these gave me a shoe pattern that would approximately fit my foot . The pattern was further tested for fit with a canvas model of scrap fabric, and then cut from leather, along with a rand
Materials – In the 1300’s, sheep or calf, tanned with oak tannins was primarily used for shoe-making. I chose soft chromium tanned cow skin for the upper because it was a bright cheery colour, and a good price. The sole was made from a heavy brown leather of unknown origin. Soles in this time period were of heavy leather, undyed, but thin enough to turn through. All thread used in the construction of the shoes was a period appropriate 3 ply linen, doubled up for the soles.
