AUS-8 Stainless Steel and Fixed-Blade, Clip-Point Design for Versatility
With a full 5.2-inch straight-edge blade, the versatility of an elongated clip-point design, and the extra sharpness provided by flat ground bevels, the Northwest Ranger is built to move quickly and smoothly from one task to the next.
This blade is crafted from AUS-8 stainless steel for durability and improved edge retention, and it features a sleek satin finish, along with rasping that makes it easy to apply extra pressure or to exert extra control over the blade.
Durable Kraton Handle for Comfortable, No-Slip Grip
Since a sharp knife is only safe and effective if you have complete control over it, this Ranger also showcases a textured Kraton handle that sits comfortably and securely in your hand. Kraton is a synthetic material that delivers a flexible feel and excellent traction while also offering increased resistance to heat, weathering, and chemicals for superior durability.
Lightweight, Well-Balanced Design and Leather Sheath
The compact Northwest Ranger is well-balanced for a comfortable, intuitive in-hand feel. Its slim yet protective grooved crossbar contributes to this comfort, and the knife's overall length of 9.925 inches lets you maximize leverage and positioning for increased flexibility in the field. Furthermore, it weighs in at just 6.2 ounces, so you don't have to sacrifice portability or pack weight for functionality.
It comes with a classic, black leather sheath that's sturdy and elegant, so you can always be sure that your blade is protected when not in use--and that your body and gear are protected from your blade.
This S240-L NW Ranger Fixed-Blade Knife is backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against defects in manufacturing and materials.

Northwest Airlines WorldPlane (scale model)

Photo taken at Flight Path Museum at the south end of Los Angeles International Airport, covering the history of aviation, especially as it pertains to LAX.

This is a scale model of a Northwest Airlines Boeing 747-400. Northwest had been the very first airline to operate the 747-400 in 1989; it initially ordered fourteen but took delivery of only ten. (#11 and #12, in production when canceled, were picked up by United.) The last of the ten, N670US, was given this special livery in the mid-1990s, to mark Northwest's 50 years of service to Asia, featuring artwork by children from Asian cities served by Northwest.

Northwest, along with Pan Am, was the definitive US airline operating across the Pacific, and the Pacific routes were what allowed Northwest to continue surviving and thriving despite a weak domestic network. When United bought Pan Am's Pacific routes in 1986 and became the first US airline with strength both domestically and across the Pacific, Northwest fought back by merging with Republic Airlines and launching European services. Northwest even went on to order six additional 747s after this "50 Years of Bridging the Pacific" promotion ended. But the post-9/11 slump and the market pressures led Northwest into bankruptcy, and eventual merger with Delta. The Northwest name, which had been the oldest US airline name in continuous use, disappeared into history in January 2010.

Today, N670US and all other Northwest 747-400s continue to fly on, as part of the Delta fleet and in the 2007 New Delta livery. They also mark the return of the Boeing 747 to Delta for the first time since 1977.
