IR dune
An infrared film photo of a dune at Grand Mere State Park
Efke IR820 Aura (no antihalation layer) film was shot in a Nikon F using a Nikkor 35mm f/1.4 lens. I metered at EI 3 using the Sekonic 758DR without the Tiffen 87 IR filter using a sun lit tree. I then increased the exposure by 1 stop to make sure the tree was white. Developed in HC-110 for 5 min at 68 F. I used Noiseware to reduce some of the grain from the film. (Other recent IR postings have not been so filtered.)
Simulated IR filter
I'm wanting to get a ir filter for the camera but from what i've read the xsi has a ir blocker on the image chip making the filter useless. so i went through lightroom to see if i can get something close to infrared and just save those settings as a preset for later use. Here's what the preset does right now, later i'll tweak it to get as close to the real thing.
