Black Friday
While most of Tracyland slept, Sprout awoke early to accompany me on a very mini-Black Friday shopping expedition.
Black Friday is what Americans call the day after Thanksgiving. Traditionally, this if the first day of the Christmas shopping season. (We used to have a Christmas season, now we have a Christmas shopping season.)
On this day each year stores begin to make a profit for the first time since the New Year. Yes, shops have been operating in the red (in debt) all year until this day. Thousands of Americans pour out of their houses before dawn to get the best deals of the year on gifts for Christmas.
Sprout shows you the finer points of the quest. First, get a newspaper on Thanksgiving. It will contain all the advertisements for who has what on sale. Be sure to note the time--many shops only offer early bird specials--from 5 am until noon. Then, get up early, dress warmly. Don't forget breakfast. Dress comfie and don't forget those credit cards.
Then, attack! Sprout and I went to just one store this morning: Walgreens--just down the block. We didn't want to brave the traffic accidents and nutty drivers. The cashier told us that at another store a woman broke her ankle in the rush to get in the store and there were fist fights at Walmart...
Christmas...it's the best time of the year.

So my flights were cancelled due to a strike. So i wont be going on vacation this summer. This will make 2 years since i've seen my dad and asia hasn't seen him at all. I had so many plans for this trip and they all went down the toilet. So right now i'm just tryin to make the best of the fact that i am still getting up and going to work, because many people weren't even afforded that privilege this morning.
Also i'm sick of seeing my face so i will go a week without any face shots!
