Once you're comfortable with the location.
Press down on the filter REAL HARD with your hand.
Put your weight on it, man.
This helps to score the media and gives us our cutting path
Note: it's a tight fit. that's okay, we have about 10mm to play with due to the metal casing of the filter

cut the media in half
note the scoring from pressing really hard
Trim off the excess media
place the trimmed media in between two filters and screw into place while ensuring there is no buckling
Viola, you are done.
