Handlebars trumpet solo music : Alto saxophone jazz sheet music.
Handlebars Trumpet Solo Music
- In music, a solo (from the solo, meaning alone, even though assolo is now used in Italy when referring to the musical solo) is a piece or a section of a piece played or sung by a single performer. In practice this means a number of different things, depending on the type of music and the context.

Besides acting as a steering mechanism, handlebars also may support a portion of the rider's weight, depending on his or her riding position.
- (handlebar) the shaped bar used to steer a bicycle
- "Handlebars" is a song by Flobots. It was released as the first single from their debut album, Fight with Tools and is the group's largest success, peaking at #3 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks in just less than three weeks after the single's release.
- Something shaped like a trumpet, esp. the tubular corona of a daffodil flower
- An organ reed stop with a quality resembling that of a trumpet
- proclaim on, or as if on, a trumpet; "Liberals like to trumpet their opposition to the death penalty"
- play or blow on the trumpet
- cornet: a brass musical instrument with a brilliant tone; has a narrow tube and a flared bell and is played by means of valves
- A brass musical instrument with a flared bell and a bright, penetrating tone. The modern instrument has the tubing looped to form a straight-sided coil, with three valves

Project 365 #226: 140809 Another Fallen Icon
It seems like I'm posting far more obituary shots than I'd like for this 365.
This one goes out to music pioneer Les Paul. It's been fascinating reading about him, and discovering that he was a pioneer in the development of the solid body electric guitar and multi-track recording techniques.
It seems to me like he's been remembered for the wrong thing. Sure, he's got his name stamped in every Gibson Les Paul that exists, but I can't help but feel that it's multi track recording that really changed the world.
Either way, multi track recorders aren't really as pretty as guitars (at least domestic ones aren't) so it's guitars that I've photographed.
RIP Mr. Paul (that's Les, not the dodgy wine waiter from 1980s Crossroads).
Jigsaw#3 08
If you look carefully there are 'whimsical' cut pieces, so called because, in Victorian times, the cutters applied their skill in making shapes 'on a whim'. Sometimes these puzzles are called 'Whimseys'. This one has several shapes such as 2000, an electric guitar and a knight.
When viewed in Original Size you will see these shapes and more.
The puzzle was cut by laser techniques, hence the neatness.

ok, don't panic -- i'm fine. i spent last night at a local hospital's sleep center. apparently i snore like a freight train, and sometimes stop breathing altogether, so my ENT prescribed a sleep study to see if i have sleep apnea. it was a fascinating experience. the technician was terrific, and before i asked whether i could take pictures, he said, "did you bring your cell phone?" apparently everyone takes pictures. (and why not? i mean, look at me! is that sexsay or WHAT?!?) i was convinced i wouldn't get any sleep with all the wires and tape and putty in my hair, but sleep i did, and this morning i got to see the charts showing my REM sleep. so. frikkin. cool.
but now i need to shower, get the cement out of my hair, and sleep for reals.
more soon.

Jogando Capoeira no Farol da Barra // Playing Capoeira at Farol da Barra
Salvador, Bahia
Brasil
O navio negreiro aportou e junto veio em seu carregamento muita energia mistica e cultura sem igual. Eterna Africa no sangue brasileiro.
-------------------
Capoeira
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, games, music, and dance. It was created in Brazil by slaves brought from Africa, especially from present day Angola some time after the 16th century. It was developed in the regions known as Bahia, Pernambuco and Rio de Janeiro. Participants form a roda, or circle, and take turns either playing musical instruments (such as the Berimbau), singing, or ritually sparring in pairs in the center of the circle. The sparring is marked by fluid acrobatic play, feints, and extensive use of sweeps, kicks, and headbutts. Less frequently used techniques include elbow strikes, slaps, punches, and body throws. Its origins and purpose are a matter of debate, with theories ranging from views of Capoeira as a uniquely Brazilian folk dance with improvised fighting movements to claims that it is a battle-ready fighting form directly descended from ancient African techniques.
Historians are divided between those who believe it is a direct descendant of African fighting styles and those who believe it is a uniquely Brazilian dance form distilled from various African and Brazilian influences. One popular explanation holds that it is an African fighting style that was developed in Brazil, as expressed by a proponent named Salvano, who said, "Capoeira cannot exist without black men but its birthplace is Brazil".
Even the etymology of the word capoeira is debated. The Portuguese word capao means "capon", or a castrated rooster, and could mean that the style appears similar to two roosters fighting. Kongo scholar K. Kia Bunseki Fu-Kiau also suggested capoeira could be derived from the Kikongo word kipura, which describes a rooster's movements in a fight.[citation needed]Afro-Brazilian scholar Carlos Eugenio has suggested that the sport took its name from a large round basket called a "capa" commonly worn on the head by urban slaves. Others claim the term derives from the Tupi-Guarani words kaa ("leaf", "plant") and puera (past aspect marker), meaning "formerly a forest". Another claim is that given that capoeira in Portuguese literally means "chicken coop", it could simply be a derisive term used by slave owners to refer to the displays as chicken fights.

My 60D finally arrived this morning, excited I decided to go shooting in central London. I came across this guy, wasn't sure what he was doing at first & just said "do you mind if I take a picture" before you knew it, we were talking about life in general... African culture, tradition, musical instruments... It was a good hr..
Here he is playing an African string instrument called "Berimbau " it's played across west, central and southern African by most Bantu speaking people. With slavery it made it's way along the atlantic and is now found in the Caribbean & in South America. It really is a wonderful instrument... a real time machine.
Today, I learnt a lot.

TAPPING TECHNIQUE GUITAR : TECHNIQUE GUITAR
Tapping technique guitar : Jazz violin solo : Trumpet mouthpiece buzzing.
Tapping Technique Guitar
- proficiency: skillfulness in the command of fundamentals deriving from practice and familiarity; "practice greatly improves proficiency"
- A way of carrying out a particular task, esp. the execution or performance of an artistic work or a scientific procedure
- Skill or ability in a particular field
- A skillful or efficient way of doing or achieving something
- a practical method or art applied to some particular task

Anna plays Taiko Drum Master
This is about as much fun as arcade games get. You wouldn't want to play against a Japanese kid - one virtuoso showed up with his own sticks, and another was wearing special gloves. The gameplay is a lot like Rock Band, except horizontal instead of vertical.
To me, it seems obvious that the future of live performance of electronic music lies with this kind of video game. I love computer music as much as anyone, but at a show it's a little silly to watch someone hunched over a laptop tapping at the space bar. Watching someone triggering MIDI sounds and cool graphic explosions with their feet, or with taiko drums, or fake guitars or giant plastic buttons or whatever, on the other hand, is a lot of fun.
Among the Japanese kids, the emphasis is less on groove than on pure speed, and as far as that particular area of musical technique goes, they've stumbled on an incredibly effective self-teaching tool. Our education system has much to learn here at the arcade. On the other hand, I want to take each kid by the shoulders and say, dude, chill, slow down a little, put down the energy drinks and the cigarettes and center yourself.

THE BEST TRUMPET PLAYER - BEST GUITAR TECHNIQUE - GIBSON CLASSIC GUITARS.

- The trumpet is the musical instrument with the highest register in the brass family.Trumpets are among the oldest musical instruments, dating back to at least 1500 BCE.
Arturo Sandoval
I got to see Arturo Sandoval perform at the 103.1 WLOQ Latin Jazz Festival! Managed to get a front row spot, and snapped quite a few photos. This is easily my best shot of the evening, taken when I was at the foot of the stage towards the end of the show.
As a trumpet player myself, getting to see this legend in person was a huge treat. Being so close was just as amazing and made for some great photo opportunities. Best of all was the price to see the show: free!
My D7000 performed admirably given the challenging lighting conditions. The concert was outdoors and the lighting was far from perfect up on the tiny stage, but even at ISO1600, the D7K churned out sharp and clean photos.
George Vosburgh is a fantastic trumpet player with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. In 1985 he won a Grammy as the best new classical artist of the year. He's a guest soloist, lecturer and teacher. He's also a very funny guy.

The Trumpet Swan
Trumpeter Swan (Juvenile)
Hemer Provincial Park, Nanaimo, BC, Please view LARGE? Lighting is a photographers best friend! :-)
The Trumpeter Swan, Cygnus buccinator is the largest native North American bird, if measured in terms of weight and length, and is (on average) the largest waterfowl species on earth. Males typically measure from 145–163 cm (57–64 inches) and weigh 11.8 kg (26 lb); females typically range from 139–150 cm (55–60 inches) and weigh 10 kg (22 lb). It is rivaled in size among waterfowl only by the introduced Mute Swan, which is native to Eurasia, but the Trumpeter usually is longer-bodied. Exceptionally large male Trumpeters can reach a length of 183 cm (72 inches), a wingspan of 3 meters (almost 10 ft) and a weight of 17.4 kg (38 lb). The Trumpeter Swan is closely related to the Whooper Swan of Eurasia, and even has been considered the same species by some authorities.
In winter, they may eat crop remnants in agricultural fields, but more commonly they feed while swimming. These birds have white plumage with a long neck, a black bill subtly marked with salmon-pink along the mouthline, and short black legs. The cygnets (juveniles) are grey in appearance, becoming white after the first year. The Mute Swan can easily be distinguished by its orange bill and different structure (particularly the neck, which is almost always curved down). The Tundra Swan more closely resembles the Trumpeter, but is quite a bit smaller and usually has yellow lores. Distinguishing Tundra and Trumpeter Swans from a distance (when size is harder to gauge) is quite challenging, and can often be done only with experience and knowledge of structural details. Adults go through a summer moult when they temporarily lose their flight feathers. The females become flightless shortly after the young hatch; the males go through this process about a month later when the females have completed their moult.
Their breeding habitat is large shallow ponds and wide slow rivers in northwestern and central North America, with the largest numbers of breeding pairs found in Alaska. Natural populations of these swans migrate to and from the Pacific coast and portions of the United States, flying in V-shaped flocks. Released populations are mostly non-migratory.
The female lays 8 to 17 eggs in a mound of plant material on a small island, a beaver or muskrat lodge, or a floating platform. The same location may be used for several years. The eggs average 73 mm (2.9 inches) wide, 113.5 mm (4.5 inches) long, and weigh about 320 grams (11.3 oz). The incubation period is 32 to 37 days. These birds often mate for life, and both parents will participate in incubation and brooding. The young are able to swim within two days and usually are capable of feeding themselves after at most two weeks. The fledging stage is reached at 3 to 4 months.
These birds feed while swimming, sometimes up-ending or dabbling to reach submerged food. The diet is almost entirely aquatic plants. In winter, they may also eat grasses and grains in fields. The young are fed on insects and small crustaceans along with plants at first, changing to a vegetation-based diet over the first few months. Predators of Trumpeter Swan eggs include Common Raven (Corvus corax), Common Raccoon (Procyon lotor), Wolverine (Gulo gulo), American Black Bear (Ursus americanus), Brown Bear (Ursus arctos), Coyote (Canis latrans), Gray Wolf (Canis lupus) and Northern River Otter (Lontra canadensis). Most of the same predators will prey on young cygnets, as will Snapping Turtle (Chelhydra serpentina), California Gull (Larus californicus), Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) and American Mink (Mustela vison). Larger cygnets and nesting adults are preyed on by Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), Bobcat (Lynx rufus), Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) and Coyote. Few predators, apart from the Bobcat and possibly the Golden Eagle, are capable of taking adults when they are not nesting.
This bird was named for its trumpet-like honk which some compare to the sound of a French horn. The E.B. White novel, The Trumpet of the Swan, is about a Trumpeter Swan which learns to play the trumpet in order to compensate for having been born mute, a reference to another swan, the Mute Swan.
In the 1800s and early 1900s, the Trumpeter Swan was hunted heavily, both as game and a source of feathers. This species is also unusually sensitive to lead poisoning while young. These birds once bred in North America from northwestern Indiana west to Oregon in the U.S., and in Canada from James Bay to the Yukon, but their comparatively small numbers in the southern part of their range were reduced to near zero by the mid-twentieth century. Many thousands survived in the core range in Canada and Alaska, however, where populations have since rebounded. Efforts to reintroduce this bird into other parts of its original range, and to introduce it elsewhere, have had only modest success, as suitable habitats have dwindled and the released birds do not undertake mig
Wood Duck and Mate with Trumpet Swan ~ Project 365/134
2009.05.16. An opportunity to visit Northwest Trek in Eatonville, WA this morning. About 15 of us were on a tram through the park for about 2 1/2 hours, well before the park was open to the general public. Lots of awesome views, Buffalo, Caribou, Elk, Big Horn Sheep and lambs, Mountain Goats, and of course, the water fowl. There were about four pair of the beautiful Wood Duck in this marsh. The colors are spectacular. Cropped to 16:9 Wide screen Aspect and border in CS4. Color adjustments in ACR. DSC_3832 © 2009.
