This was why I went to Sweden. I wanted to go to the Ice Hotel for (almost) my birthday. So I did after making my way north via planes trains and buses.
The Icehotel is located in a village called Jukkasjarvi, near the town of Kiruna, 110 miles north of the Arctic Circle.
It was one of the coldest winters on record in Europe and was - (that's a minus) 47° . Can't remember if it was Celsius or Fahrenheit but the scales meet at about -40°...
Lainio Ice Hotel
There's two or three ice hotels in this area, I don't think this is one you can actually stay at. It's just there for the tourists to look at. Still interesting though.
