Seaside Dunes

Seaside Dunes

Seaside's extensive sand dunes appear to be mostly covered with ice plants, native to South Africa. Back in the late 40s and early 50s most of the dunes were a lot more exposed. When I was young, we hiked countless times from Seaside to Monterey. The 5 mile distance felt more like 10 miles walking in the loose sand.
