She wasn’t in the mood to dull up for such a short trip - so she only put on a pair of her tigh high boots just over the blue jeans. Baby Fred - AKA "freddy" I may be behind on “the Bird Bulletin” – Meet our baby son, Fred – “Freddy”. The DNA test came back and “It’s a boy!!!” They let me bring him home last Sunday…He was completely weaned – I had already decided I would be taking him home on July 2, regardless of whether they thought he was ready or not. I was ready, and I could hand feed him myself - I wanted to do that. Since I know zero about birds, I’m learning that a baby is a completely different experience than an adult. DUH!!!! Everything is going well so far – we have them duplexed, not sharing a cage. There is a cage “wall” between them. They are ‘together” when I have them out with me where I can supervise gently. He is just too young to hold his own with her, though Sunshine gives him his space. As long as she does everything first, or as long as he doesn’t interfere with her “intimate” time with me, she’s fine. As I said, I’m learning..I was surprised to find the other day that Sunshine had chewed right through one of her light, balsa wood perches….And the next day, Freddy did the same. Guess it looked like fun! So, I did some research and learned that they like a variety of things to perch on. I went out in the back yard and retrieved some branches from the pile of prunings and I’ve had fun fashioning them into natural perches. The trick to this is to get Sunshine OUT of the cage while one is “re-decorating” her abode. She is exceedingly territorial and takes a dim view of anything changing while she is on the premises. As long as you remove her while the new furniture is going in, she will take to it like crazy when you set her back inside.(Go figure.) Freddy loves the new stuff, too – and I just may love it more than both of them. Today’s sermon: (Well, it IS Sunday!) With my animals, I’ve discovered that one of the things that makes me happiest is seeing them use and enjoy something I’ve created for them..for instance, for the dogs, it might be a clean, soft bed or an outside feature in the yard like the stream on these very hot days. For the birds, it’s giving me such pleasure to watch them maneuver around all over the tree branches, hang from them, chatter from them – and just take them for granted as part of a wonderful environment. I can’t help but compare that to how much I know God loves to see us enjoying the things He has set in place around us – He doesn’t even sit back and wait for us to say thank you..He just get’s joy from seeing us happy in the world He’s made for us. What a Dad! I love Him so – my life with these creatures is constantly teaching me about how He relates to me and vice versa . HDTV, bookshelves and stereo system Mitsubishi 55” Projection HDTV. My new job as a SENIOR EXECUTIVE CONSULTANT SHELVING OPERATIVE OFFICER (I got da badge!) im having a few problems down at the job centre. basically, the staff there are sayin that ive been out of work for too long. i dunno. personally i dont think six years is a long time but they seem to see things differently. so what theyve done is put me on this job restart programme. how it works is this: ive now got no choice in my life direction. they find me a job and if dont want it or dont show up for work then they take my benefit away. the problem is, i dont like any of the jobs they keep findin for me, so i keep getting booted out of one and then they have to go and re-locate me in another. they keep bollockin me, sayin i shouldnt make "so much fuss" and i should just "get on with it". but whats the point of doin a job if it only makes u miserable? where's the logic in that? i mean, if ur not happy in a job ur employer shud let u get out as soon as possible - otherwise ur gonna do shoddy work, spread all ur bad vibes and negative energy to the rest of the workforce and ultimately bring the company down on its knees. no, my approach would be as follows: if an employee is unhappy in their job, dont be cruel, dont be pissy, HELP them to get out - and get them out QUICK. why not transfer them to a different part of the country? how about some sort of job swap? u know, like some sort of life exchange? let someone who wants to live in brighton whos currently living in bradford exchange jobs with someone whos currently living in brighton who wants to live in bradford. its not bloody rocket science is it. the main thing about engendering loyalty is to employ people who really want to do the job - DO NOT under any circumstances keep someone in a job who cant stand doing it. feck me. how f--kin stupid are we as human beings? i mean, how many more years of drudgery will we all have to endure before someone latches on to this? let me guess - hell will freeze over before anyone latches onto the life exchange idea (i'm willing to put a bet on that). my problem though is that i havent found a job on this planet yet that i think "ooh, this is fun, i like this one." and thats because im a creative. and the TRUTH is, the real ROCK BOTTOM LINE is this: there aint no space for creativity in a market-driven economy. the message from the UK job market to creative is: "get the f**k out or curl up and die, cos there aint no place for u here, loser." and, yeah, its all very well seein these high-powered officey type job ads that say they are, quote, "creative", but more often than the most creative it gets is working out how to "create" a spreadsheet in excel or insert a table in Word. well, f**k my old boots and call me a numb nuts, but i don't know why they don't advertise for Van Gogh or a proper picarsole. mmm, so this picture shows me turning up for my first day at WTF Furniture Stores in my exciting new role as an executive warehouse consultant shelving operative officer. well, at least the job title makes my life seem a whole lot less sh*t. in fact, it makes me feel so proud that i have a medal with my job title on and i polish it every day by gobbing on it. then i spend hours staring at myself lovingly in its brassy reflection. the relationship between myself and my new employer is truly harmonious. i can safely say that the job restart action was an astounding piece of strategic thinking on the part of the job centre workforce. 2010 JHC Preservation Luncheon #25 Every guest received a copy of the new Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area guidebook of 99 magnificent historic sites in our area- the Jay Heritage Center and the Jay Property are listed on page 14. The guidebook groups venues by theme and the Jay Property is included in the categories of Architecture, Landscape and Gardens. Environment, and most importantly, Freedom and Dignity. ----------------------------------------------------- The historic Westchester Country Club in Rye, NY designed by famed architects Warren & Wetmore in the 1920s was the site of the Jay Heritage Center's 2010 Preservation Luncheon, on December 8. Renowned designer, and JHC Advisory Board member, Alexa Hampton was the featured speaker. She is the author of the new book "Alexa Hampton: The Language of Interior Design" and captivated her audience with an engaging and colorful swathe of knowledgeable designing tips and illustrations of her work. More than 200 guests attended the event which raised over $100,000 in proceeds to benefit JHC's programs in American History, Architecture, Landscape Conservation and Environmental Stewardship. The Luncheon was chaired by Suzanne Clary, Joan Mark, Rachel Breinin and Lauren Spelman all of Rye. A live auction featured couture jewelry from MISH and unique cultural experiences including private tours of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, picnics at Fort Jay on Governors Island and behind the scenes peeks at the Winter Antiques Show. Guests also applauded Westchester Country Club historian, Sheila Enos who was honored for her work to preserve the photographic images and stories of generations of Rye and Harrison residents. Alexa Hampton, president of Mark Hampton, LLC, since 1998, has annually been listed in Architectural Digest and House Beautiful as one of the country’s top interior designers. She is also the designer of a growing stable of eponymous licensed products for the home, including furniture, fabrics, carpets, and lighting. She lives in New York City with her husband and children. As an Advisory Board member, she is actively engaged in helping to restore the Jay House Dining Room in time for the JHC's spring exhibit on Slavery and the Civil War. Veel leuke dingen gezien, totaal 20 goederentreinen waarvan helaas vele lege of volle kolen :D - maar sommige weer met leuke tractie ! Als teaser (:P) allereerst deze combi - beide locs nog nooit gezien dus, leuk om mee te beginnen ! CT 104 (V100) + CT 189 094 komen met zeer slecht beladen containertrein langs CUP Valburg. Ik heb de CT 104 eerst als LLT richting Emmerich zien gaan - de 189 094 heeft geen ETCS aan boord en mag de trein dus niet over de BR trekken. English Today i paid my first visit to the Betuwe Route, the special freight corridor from Rotterdam Harbours to Emmerich (D). Only freighttrains use this route - i have seen 20 today - many coal and empty coal transport but some with nice traction ! A little teaser (:P) of more to come ;)) CapTrain 104 (V100) hauls CapTrain 189 094 (DIT) and badly loaded containertrain along the CUP (Container Exchange Point) in Valburg. The 189 094 is DIT because it lacks ETCS (European Train Control System) which is mandatory to operate a train on the Betuwe Route. The CUP is designed to be the exchange point for container transport in the Region but has not lived up to this (yet). CT 653-08 + Cellulose - Eempolder - 20110311 Op RR melding van een RailInfra rit deze middag - lekker weertje - alle tijd ;) Een melding van de lege Cellulose in het Oosten maakte dat ik haast kreeg - na een afspraak in Ermelo was het weekend dus meteen door naar de Eempolder. En ... weer kwam er niets, ik kreeg al een deja vu .... Tot in het cargo-pad van 15:45 er iets aan kwam - gelukkig - wachten niet voor niets. CT 653-08 komt met aan de haak een sleep dichte wagens , type Habis van ERR, door de Eempolder op weg naar de Kijfhoek. Wagens worden gebruikt voor vervoer van Cellulose. Barn and Silo This photo was taken on Route 22 in Pawling, New York. Route 22 is a New York state highway running north–south from the outskirts of New York City to a short distance from the Canadian border. At over 337 miles, it is the state's longest north–south route. Almost all of Route 22 is a two-lane rural road that passes through small villages and hamlets. The portion of Route 22 where this photo was taken is surrounded by commercial properties...specifically a car wash, restaurant, supermarket, furniture store, hardware store, ice cream shop and a car dealership. This barn is a bit off the road and is only visible during the winter. Red Barn, Leesburg, VA This barn is near a vineyard (of course!) in Leesburg VA - part of my trip to No VA to visit my mom.
