Note extra bolts pertruding from crankcase cover just ahead of the oil filter/alternator adapter. These hold the crankcase oil separation baffle into place. I learned the trick of trimming the oil baffle so that it fits up into the crankcase cover from Marsh Hesler, former San Diego Corvair club member, now in Colorado. By trimming it, it is no longer sandwiched in between the cover and the crankcase. Therefore, you only use one crankcase cover gasket. I've found it prevents a common, annoying oil seepage spot as have many other's who have tried it.
today I hate cars
a leaky $5 gasket, 5 hours of work and I'm only halfway done. everything is coated with oil from the oil filter adapter gasket, you can't see it. 4 bolts, blocked by the subframe. I have a headache
