Here's the oil sump disassembled. Had a small leak in the bottom (that Mobil 1 synthetic oil is tough to contain). The pump is from one of my old racebikes, a Kawasaki 900. Site glass came from McMaster Carr. The Phase 1 design sump, spin-on oil filter housing, cover, and chain-drive housing were originally all home-grown aluminum castings. I had to replace the cast filter housing with machined steel in Phase 2 because the casting was just too porous for this high-pressure (40 psig) and Mobil 1.
