My Baby's Health History : Newborn to 3 Years of Age
This is a workbook that records medical information in an organized and concise way. Parents can monitor health conditions as well as track their child's development for future reference. Physicians, nurses and other health care workers can quickly scan important medical data during an emergency and then later review detailed information to assure appropriate treatment is being rendered. This is an invaluable tool for grandparents, sitters and other caregivers to use in order to obtain health information quickly in case the need arises while the child is under their supervision.
6.33kgs @ 19 weeks
Baby health visitors throughout the Western world are trained to tell you your baby isn't putting on enough weight. They're excellent at sending new Mums and Dads into panic at the prospect of their little one wasting away, that if they don't start force feeding their baby immediately he'll be gone by morning. This is all contrary to the evidence in front of their eyes (ie, a healthy, happy, smiling, cheeky little simian).
M and I have decided, for the most part at least, to ignore the growth charts. M found a local clinic where you can weigh your baby yourself, away from the censorious eyes of the health visitors. It takes a lot of stress out of the weighing in process.
I've learnt lots of things in the first 19 weeks of being a father and one of them is to take everything the health visitors say with a very hefty dose of salt.
Day 69 - the all important red book...
The red book that you have to take along to all the doctors, midwife and health visitor appointments to record your baby's development.
Anyone who's had the misfortune to talk politics with me will know I'm strongly libertarian, and I resent the amount of state influence in our lives. But even I've been pleasantly surprised by the positive support we've had from the healthcare team lately.

baby health books
There are plenty of books and DVDs that show women how to exercise with their baby to get back in shape. But what about the poor neglected dad? The truth is, "raising" one's children comes naturally to fathers, and this book provides new dads with a spontaneous, healthy, and fun way to engage with their babies and young children. With funky, retro-cool, full-color illustrations, Baby Barbells not only shows men how to work their biceps and quads, but more importantly provides amusing yet poignant advice on bonding with baby and becoming a great dad.
With its soft, subtle humor and meaningful guidance, Baby Barbells combines parenting, fitness, and health into a playful series of exercises--all in a contemporary, appealing package.
