14 de Fevereiro Homenageamos a HISTORIA DO COMPUTADOR DIGITAL que completa 65 anos.
(YAHOO)

Segundo professores, o projeto inicial previa o investimento de US$ 150 mil, mas acabou custando US$ 400 mil.

February 14 We Homage HISTORY OF DIGITAL COMPUTER that complete 65 years

Today an iPhone in the hand of a child a toy is handled with extreme ease. Who was born on the touch-screen can not imagine standing before an old man who, today, 14:02, completes 65 years of life: the digital computer. The date marks the launch of the ENIAC (Electrical Numerical Integrator abbreviation and Computer), developed at the University of Pennsylvania, the United States between 1943 and 1946. The importance of the ENIAC is to be the first electronic digital computer that calculated on a large scale.
The ENIAC was the first of its kind developed in the U.S. on a successful project and predecessor of computers important for the development of these machines, (ICMC), University of Sao Paulo (USP). According to teachers, the project provided the initial investment of $ 150,000, but ended up costing $ 400 000.

These machines have evolved significantly with the First and Second World Wars. The ENIAC, for example, was created to calculate ballistics tables. "The Americans wanted to know how they should position their cannons to the right target. Before the Eniac, these calculations require great human effort, systematized and automated with the computer and also reduced errors," afirmamprofessores.
The ENIAC occupied a room with 300 m2, was 2.5 m tall and weighed 30 tons. 17,470 valves had warmed, and burn, always had to be replaced. He was physically programmed by a panel full of switches and plugs - as their position, he would perform a task.
Data were entered using punch cards, and the result was presented at a panel full of lights, switches and cables that turn on or off according to the function. Performed five thousand arithmetic operations per second. According to the Computer History Museum, located in California, the United States in a decade this encumbrance has more accounts than the whole of humanity had made so far.

In the book "Introduction to Programming with Ada 95," author Arthur Vargas Lopes says that the grandparents of the computers were the adding machines in the early 17th century. By 1800, it created known as a "difference engine", which defined the concept of digital computer-controlled mechanical program, which incorporated an arithmetic uni
