Newburyport Mad Men
FADE IN:
TITLE CARD "Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce - 1970"
INT. CONFERENCE ROOM
Unorganized conference room. Papers scattered on table. It's late into the night, yet the men are still in suits, ties loosened. Smoke lingers.
LANE
This hair brain idea has to work. Must I remind you billing is down, rent is due, and I may require the partners to make another investment.
ROGER
If you think I'm giving you any of my memoir royalties, you have another thing coming.
There is an awkward silence. Don takes a large pull from a filter-less cigarette.
DON
Now that's enough. Peggy's building advertising idea will save this firm.
CUT TO CORNER OF CONFERENCE ROOM
Harry pulls up a large drawing of Coca-Cola painted advertisement on red brick building.
CLOSE UP DON
Don stands, slowly walks behind the seated partners.
DON
Or God help us all.
This shot was taken in Newburyport, another great New England town on the ocean, with tons of charm. This is my tribute to the TV show Mad Men, an advertising agency set in the late 60's, and now morphing into the 70's with season 5.

Classic
A concept as old as time itself. In fact I wager this was one of the ideas for the first ever presentation of concept by an agency. Even got a split screen. Not sure showing coal higher than diamond when sales curves generally show positivity on incline, is so smart. In fact, the reason this grabbed me was because I found myself looking at it and shaking my head in disbelief. That said, I very quickly get what they do; turn a valuable resource into a valuable asset. Perhaps sometimes the old ones are the best ones?

INVEST TOXIC ASSETS : TOXIC ASSETS
Invest Toxic Assets : Top Green Companies To Invest In : Capital Investment Grants.
Invest Toxic Assets
- "Toxic asset" is a popular term for certain financial assets whose value has fallen significantly and for which there is no longer a functioning market, so that such assets cannot be sold at a price satisfactory to the holder.
- (Toxic asset) An asset on a company's balance sheet that is difficult to value or sell because the market for those assets has dried up.
- An asset, such as a mortgage-backed security, that becomes illiquid when its secondary market disappears. Toxic assets cannot be sold, as they are often guaranteed to lose money.
- Devote (one's time, effort, or energy) to a particular undertaking with the expectation of a worthwhile result
- endow: give qualities or abilities to
- Expend money with the expectation of achieving a profit or material result by putting it into financial schemes, shares, or property, or by using it to develop a commercial venture
- make an investment; "Put money into bonds"
- furnish with power or authority; of kings or emperors
- Buy (something) whose usefulness will repay the cost
Toxic Assets
The Museum of American Finance has a series of panels explaining the cause of the 2007 global economic/ banking crisis. The museum is quite frank about the proliferation of toxic assets such as the CDOs (collateralized debt obligations) and ABS (asset-backed securities) that caused a massive increase in personal and household debts since the mid-1990s.
The Western world has seen its personal and household debts soaring since the credit cards were first invented in the 1960s. These days, people buy everything on borrowed money using credit cards, personal lines of credit, taking loans out of the home equity, or whatever other fancy loans the banks invented for us.
It seems like the perceived "rise in living standard" in the past 20 years was mostly paid by borrowed money.

Ap Photo Kyon Lete Ho.. Why Do You Take Our Pictures..

Sukhi Hontu - I lost "everything"... Twenty five years of careful investing, planning and hard work turned to sand in my hands in a 3 month period of 2008. All the properties went back to the bank, businesses went bankrupt, and friends died. The only answer was to go to Pushkar and Ajmer for a spiritual tune-up, walk long distances, eat veg and remember the simple life. I am attempting to jump-start my heart to want to begin again...3:33 am
I start my fourth fast, with a prayer for my good friend Sukhi Hontu who has always been my support base, we have never met but than I think does one really need to meet to be good friends ,and these lines could be anyone's lines mine too, we all fall , and yet despite being mortals we try to rise again , our wings are clipped by a blindfolded fate yet we break the barrier of speed sound and time and peddle push our life back on the beaten track..
And this image came to life I shot this young fellow at Bandra Reclamation and shot him again while I was fasting , he asked me a very simple question much before I read the lines of pain words of Sukhi.. He said in Hindi.. Ap Photo Kyon Lete Ho.. Why Do You Take Our Pictures.I brushed aside his query and did not answer him, why I take pictures on the street..
And now about to begin my fourth fast I see the answer in his smile after he fled from the scene...
with his friend..I take street pictures because they connect with some ones inner pain and help the person concerned forget pain look ahead start afresh..
And this picture connected again with another dear friend Zain Hussain at a Dubai mall with his wife and his two year son Adil .. a scene away from my surroundings the surroundings of this invalid boy,.. In Zains words below his world..
Its late now as we just came back from the malls, here the malls are open till 2am in the morning, anyway Adil had his usual French fries whereas me and Shereen went for some ice creams, ofcourse Adil invaded that as well, the ice cream brand Cold Stone creamery is very famous, I have a few limited friends and today luckily the manager recognized me and said “Sir this ice cream is from us complimentary” and I said listen I will pay for atleast one, he refused so we had loads of ice cream and I felt so bad but then that’s the spirit of Ramadan, it’s the month of giving, be it charity, thought, love, smile, affection…am glad that I too could give you a small thought which would go a long way in capturing the real essence of this holy month.
So a Holy Month and encapsulated are the worlds of a barefeet blogger , a courageous woman in New Mexico , a friend his family in a Dubai Mall and this little kid who dared to ask me .. Ap Photo Kyon lete ho.. Why do you take pictures ..
Now I let the matter rest with all of you..
Towers and tings
Not sure why I am bothering. Am working on an investment brochure and looking for images of things people invest in. DUBAI. That would be property.

Herbin, Auguste (1882-1960) - 1904 Park in Paris (Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indiana, USA)
Oil on canvas; 12 13/16 x 16 in.
Born in Quievy, Nord, he studied drawing at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Lille, from 1898 to 1901, when he settled in Paris. The initial influence of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism visible in paintings that he sent to the Salon des Independants in 1906 gradually gave way to an involvement with Cubism after his move in 1909 to the Bateau-Lavoir studios, where he met Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and Juan Gris; he was also encouraged by his friendship with Wilhelm Uhde. His work was exhibited in the same room as that of Jean Metzinger, Albert Gleizes and Fernand Leger in the Salon des Independants of 1910, and in 1912 he participated in the influential Section d'Or exhibition.
After producing his first abstract paintings in 1917, Herbin came to the attention of Leonce Rosenberg who, after World War I, made him part of the group centered on his Galerie de l'Effort Moderne and exhibited his work there on several occasions in 1918 and 1921. Herbin's radical reliefs of simple geometric forms in painted wood, such as Colored Wood Relief (1921; Paris, Musee National d'Art Moderne), challenged not only the status of the easel painting but also traditional figure–ground relationships. The incomprehension that greeted these reliefs and related furniture designs, even from those critics most favorably disposed towards Cubism, was such that until 1926 or 1927 he followed Rosenberg's advice to return to a representational style. Herbin himself later disowned landscapes, still-lifes and genre scenes of this period, such as Bowls Players (1923; Paris, Musee National d'Art Moderne), in which the objects were depicted as schematized volumes.
Trolley art triptych
After a students' party in Antwerp recently, this was left on the street outside the Art Academy. Was it waste? Or was it art? Was it an answer to Tracey Emin's 'Unmade Bed'? And was it valuable enough for the Saatchi brothers to invest in? We will never know. The council sent a truck to pick it up a couple of days later.

INVESTING IN THE BOND MARKET : THE BOND MARKET
INVESTING IN THE BOND MARKET : JFR GLOBAL INVESTMENTS : INVEST IN OIL COMMODITY.

- A market where bonds are bought and sold.
- The bond market (also known as the debt, credit, or fixed income market) is a financial market where participants buy and sell debt securities, usually in the form of bonds. As of 2009, the size of the worldwide bond market (total debt outstanding) is an estimated $82.
- Buy (something) whose usefulness will repay the cost
- (invest) endow: give qualities or abilities to
- the act of investing; laying out money or capital in an enterprise with the expectation of profit
- (invest) make an investment; "Put money into bonds"
- Expend money with the expectation of achieving a profit or material result by putting it into financial schemes, shares, or property, or by using it to develop a commercial venture

- Overview (total time = 00:29:39), I cover some definitions of lean, its roots in the Toyota Production System, and how resource planning and lean work together.
- (in this) therein: (formal) in or into that thing or place; "they can read therein what our plans are"

Heena Hijda - Wild Orchid of Pain
Heena has recently retured from Raipur Hijda conference , she had invited me I could not make it...
Heena had seen my picture in the Roznama Rashtriya Sahara Urdu paper showing my head cut and flowing with blood on Ashura day..
She called to inquire if I was OK.. I was in town as I had gone to Kaisar Bagh to inform the watchman of my stolen Powershot Canon G9..
So I came to Peela House Redlight Mumbai cages where Heena has her soliciting rooms, the place has been done since the last time I was here to give her copies of her pictures.
Heena and I share a bond of friendship based on mutual trust, she has been my ardent supporter and well wisher, other wise its tough coming in here with a camera.. the street walkers and the madams will make mince meat out of you,,,
Her Guru Laxmi and Salma had gone out with her Hijda guests who had come from Delhi..Heena ordered tea for me and told me stories of her life, she was kidnapped by a Pathan mafia don who had fallen for her ..
But Heena has worked hard she has come up struggling, she was a bar dancer and has invested wisely she has her own up market apartment at Andheri.. that she has given on rent ..
Heena is very generous she helps the kids of the poor prostitutes by paying for their education..Heena is a devout Muslim..
That she is a transgender is her personal choice..
She was on Salman Khans show with Laxmi Narayan Tripathi.. she keeps in touch with him..Salman Khan is a good Samaritan and helps the underprivileged too..
Heena was in a bitchy and foul mood, so she did not want me to take her pictures , but I managed to convince her and shot a few frames..I also shot a few pictures of the Cages from my cab..
Heena told me a lot of stories about her old Guru ancestry, but it was for my ears only.
She told me people are madly in love with her and want to marry her but Heena is not ready for such a decision as yet..
She wears only designer stuff , her handbag costs nothing less than 6 thousand, Heena is a wild orchid that inhabits the seedy swamps of PeelaHouse.

Met Chief, Sir Paul Stephenson on this controversial kettling tactic,"people were cordoned for their own vulnerability"
Yeah right.
The Police van was left 'abandoned' by the police to give justification for their controversial kettling tactics, and so the BBC and the rest of the worlds media can discredit the protest and focus on the violence, just as Royal Bank of Scotland in the City of London was mysteriously the only building in the area during the G20 protests not to be boarded up and subsequently smashed.

[economic ressession] i am worthless
In economics, a depression is a sustained, long-term downturn in economic activity in one or more economies. It is a more severe downturn than a recession, which is seen by some economists as part of the modern business cycle.
Considered, by some economists, a rare and extreme form of recession, a depression is characterized by its length, by abnormally large increases in unemployment, falls in the availability of credit— often due to some kind of banking or financial crisis, shrinking output—as buyers dry up and suppliers cut back on production, and investment, large number of bankruptcies—including sovereign debt defaults, significantly reduced amounts of trade and commerce—especially international, as well as highly volatile relative currency value fluctuations—most often due to devaluations. Price deflation, financial crises and bank failures are also common elements of a depression that are not normally a part of a recession.
Major depressive disorder is a mental disorder characterized by an all-encompassing low mood accompanied by low self-esteem, and by loss of interest or pleasure in normally enjoyable activities. This cluster of symptoms (syndrome) was named, described and classified as one of the mood disorders in the 1980 edition of the American Psychiatric Association's diagnostic manual. The term "depression" is ambiguous. It is often used to denote this syndrome but may refer to other mood disorders or to lower mood states lacking clinical significance. Major depressive disorder is a disabling condition which adversely affects a person's family, work or school life, sleeping and eating habits, and general health. In the United States, around 3.4% of people with major depression commit suicide, and up to 60% of people who committed suicide had depression or another mood disorder.
The diagnosis of major depressive disorder is based on the patient's self-reported experiences, behavior reported by relatives or friends, and a mental status examination. There is no laboratory test for major depression, although physicians generally request tests for physical conditions that may cause similar symptoms. If depressive disorder is not detected in the early stages it may result in a slow recovery and affect or worsen the person's physical health. Standardized screening tools such as Major Depression Inventory can be used to detect major depressive disorder. The most common time of onset is between the ages of 20 and 30 years, with a later peak between 30 and 40 years.
Typically, patients are treated with antidepressant medication and, in many cases, also receive psychotherapy or counseling although the effectiveness of medication for mild or moderate cases is questionable. Hospitalization may be necessary in cases with associated self-neglect or a significant risk of harm to self or others. A minority are treated with electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), under a short-acting general anaesthetic. The course of the disorder varies widely, from one episode lasting weeks to a lifelong disorder with recurrent major depressive episodes. Depressed individuals have shorter life expectancies than those without depression, in part because of greater susceptibility to medical illnesses and suicide. It is unclear whether or not medications affect the risk of suicide. Current and former patients may be stigmatized.
The understanding of the nature and causes of depression has evolved over the centuries, though this understanding is incomplete and has left many aspects of depression as the subject of discussion and research. Proposed causes include psychological, psycho-social, hereditary, evolutionary and biological factors. Certain types of long-term drug use can both cause and worsen depressive symptoms. Psychological treatments are based on theories of personality, interpersonal communication, and learning. Most biological theories focus on the monoamine chemicals serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine, which are naturally present in the brain and assist communication between nerve cells.

le caves de Moët et Chandon | Épernay
Pronunciation
Various mispronunciations of Moet are known, including "mo-way" and "mow-ee". The correct pronunciation is "mo-wett" or "m-wet" (IPA: [mo?t]), as the word is pronounced in Dutch, not French.
Milestones in the 20th century
During World War I, France suffered much destruction. Moet et Chandon lost the offices and guest houses, where Napoleon I had stayed, to bombing raids.[1] After the war, the company re-established its position in the market by introducing the Dom Perignon brand of vintage champagne in the late 1920s.[1] The introduction of the Dom Perignon label set a trend in which many other champagne houses came to introduce their own premium label of champagne intended to surpass their regular vintage champagne. Nevertheless, it was Dom Perignon which came out to be the most successful brand. Dom Perignon was recognized by connoisseurs as the most perfect champagne available, and was also the most expensive on the market.[1] During World War II in which France fell under occupation of Nazi Germany, business was negatively affected.[1] However, due to the modernization of operations within the firm, it managed to recover well.[1] The goals of fairness and efficiency were emphasized in all aspects of production, from the installation of new wine presses to a comprehensive system of work incentives.[1]
Count Robert-Jean de Vogue, a prominent figure in wine purchasing, became the leader of Moet et Chandon in the 1950s. Transformed from a family-owned business into a Societe Anonyme (or corporation), Moet et Chandon under de Vogue gained great success and an expansion rate never before experienced. In 1962 it became the first champagne house to be listed on the French stock market.[5] That same year, the company acquired full rights to France's oldest wine maison and main competitor of Moet et Chandon, Ruinart Pere et Fils.[1] Another rival wine house, Mercier, was taken over by 1970. Soon afterwards Moet et Chandon purchased an interest in Parfums Christian Dior, the first out-of-winery investment by the company, which was soon taken over by Moet.[1] The company took a milestone step in 1971 when it merged with the cognac producer Jas Hennessy & Co. to create Moet-Hennessy.[1] The decision was made as a result of a 1927 statute which limited the champagne growing region to 34,000 hectares.[1] De Vogue believed that the supply of land under cultivation (less than 25,000 hectares) would be exhausted by the demand for champagne by 2000. Thus it seemed logical to merge with Hennessy who could supply diversification and a stable future for Moet. Together, both houses grew greatly financially and were able to, as a group, "stimulate the growth of their interests abroad."[1]
In 1973, the company launched Domaine Chandon, a winery subsidiary in California. The company undertook its final merger; with Louis Vuitton, a prominent luxury goods purveyor whose goods remain renown as status symbols. This final merger gave birth to the largest luxury group in the world, Moet-Hennessy • Louis Vuitton (LVMH), netting over 16 billion euros in fiscal 2004. In 2006, Moet et Chandon Brut Imperial issued an extremely limited bottling of its champagne named "Be Fabulous", a special release of its original bottle with decorative Swarovski crystals, marking the elegance of Moet et Chandon. Also in 2006, Moet et Chandon illuminated the Statue of Liberty on its 120th anniversary.
In 2007, the company opened its Grand Vintage 2000 European Launch at the Musee de l'homme in Paris.

Dublin's planning on rails
The Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) is the rail line running along the coast of Dublin, from Malahide and Howth southwards as far as Greystones in the County of Wicklow – well known for the Wicklow Mountains of course. The DART forms part of the Dublin Suburban Rail network. DART’s system is administered by the national rail operator, Iarnrod Eireann (Irish Rail).
On its inauguration in 1984, the DART was operated by Coras Iompair Eireann (CIE) of whom IE is now a subsidiary. Part of the DART route, from the city centre of Dublin to Dun Laoghaire (a coastal town to the south of Dublin), is of historic importance as it was the first railway in Ireland. It was opened as the Dublin and Kingstown Railway, on 17 December 1834.
The original DART service ran from Howth which is north-east of Dublin, through the city centre and south to Bray in County Wicklow. This remained the route for 15 years, until more and more incremental extensions were realized. However, nowadays the Irish Government has ambitious plans to significantly expand the DART service. Under the Irish Government's Transport 21 investment program, the DART is to be extended with a new tunnel under the city from Heuston Station to the new Docklands station in Spencer Dock. This tunnel, known as the Interconnector or DART Underground, will allow for a much more effective integration with other elements of Dublin's transport system once complete. The plan will also significantly expand the DART service to the west of the city. But rest assured, The DART operation on the marvelous Connolly Station will still be there for quite some time, as the existing DART line will be modified to handle (even) more traffic.
Here you see two of the tree classes used by Iarnrod Eireann on the DART network. The total fleet numbers a total of 17 four-car trains, all of which were constructed by the Tokyu Car Corporation (??????); a manufacturer of heavy rail cars in Japan. Beside suburban stock, this company also produces the EMU cars for the High speed Shinkansen or bullet train.
