Close detail of my art glass. Basically this started as a regular mirror, then I sandblasted off all the mirror silvering off the back except for certain lines of the graphics like the hockey sticks and letters, then I sandblasted some of the clear glass on the front to create a matted mirror effect. Some of the the glass I sandblasted on both sides for the white look at the eye and mouth. All in all made for some really cool textures and looks awesome! Very happy with how it turned out. I mounted the glass using an aluminum glass guard rail channel, and tapped it from the bottom to screw it down to a 6" aluminum storefront door threshold so it stands freely and sturdily on our mantle. I hung the Canucks blanket behind it to accent the sandblasting and it also makes for a cool translucent effect with the bigger logo beyond.
I finally found a Blackhawks hat that I could be proud of after they won the Stanley Cup. I played with the curves and stuff to bring out the colors.
