Perhaps the main aspect which was to do more to immortalise Berresford's of Cheddleton in the minds of bus enthusiasts, was 'the field' at the rear of the Garage. Large numbers of withdrawn, and indeed never operated buses were pensioned off to become a valuable source of spares... and interest. Enthusiast folklore contains many accounts of individuals experiences of visits to the premises, and the hoops which some were required to jump through before permission to gain access was obtained.
In this particular shot an un operated ex Maidstone & District Leyland Leopard has an ex South Wales Leyland Tiger Cub for company. Only the Plaxton Bedford on the extreme right, and the Ex Stockport PD2 saw service with the group. The picture was taken in the final few years before closure when all manner of withdrawn NBC buses 'paused' here en-route for compulsory scrapping at Barnsley. Some, such as this pair never continued beyond Cheddleton, their places taken by others which had yielded their last.

Chocolate and blackberry muffins. This is dedicated to Tracy and Vanessa who have kept me smiling this morning as i made these and would love to have one with a coffee with them but alas they are to far away...Tracy as everything tastes better with a little or rather in this and her cases a LOT! of chocolate. And Vanessa with her 'spare cupcake' The reason why these reminded me of vanessa is i made almost 4 dozen for my darling children and hubby and i know they will be gone very quickly. I never have anything spare in this house lol...and any spare undecorated cupckaes need to be squirrelled away for playing purposes as the vultures are constantly circling. lol.
