It's been a bit melancholy around Maple Hoo the last few days, because Mahmoud's final trip to the vet is scheduled for tomorrow. It's hard to believe that a force of nature like him could have been as diminished as he's been the last few years. He's been a boon companion and member of our family for 17 years, from when he was just the world's ugliest five-week-old kitten, and there will never be another like him.
