Hello Impossible project, I just did the expirement with the heat bath. this is how i did it: 1: set the lighten darken wheel completely to lighten. 2: i added a dark green filter over the lens, to cut down the magneta tone, it worked! ( you also should tape the green filter HALF! over the lighten/darken cell.) 3: focus, shoot the picture on a tripod. 4: warm a hot bath for the picture. the right temperature is between 40/45 celcius. 5: tape also a dark slide in the front of the camera, to block light from the film. 6: put the photo WITH! the dark slide in the warm bath. 7: wait 2 minutes! ( not longer than 2,5, it will het very orange when you leave it in to long! ) 8: get out the picture, and leave it on a flat surface for about 7/8 minutes. 9: turn over the picture, and enjoy your better PX-70 Push! Wrecked Class 70 Photo and information sourced from Railway magazine. A brand new Class 70 locomotive that has never turned a wheel in revenue-earning service is almost certain to be written off after being dropped from a crane during unloading at Newport docks on January 5th. No.70012 was badly bent in the incident and expected to be sent back to its American manufacturers, General Electric. It is understood that work has already started on building a replacement. The ?2 million loco was the last of five Class 70s to be lifted from the hold of the ship, the “Beluga Endurance”, when the accident happened. The vessel’s in-built cranes had lifted No.s 70008/9/10 and 11 and deposited them on the quayside, but during the lift of 70012, one of the slings ruptured. One end of the 135-ton loco plunged some 15 feet onto the pontoon deck, quickly followed by the other end as the stress proved too much for the remaining slings. As can be seen from the photograph, the frame and body of the loco were substantially bent in the impact, which effectively wrecked the locomotive by ‘breaking its back’. There was serious damage to the roofline, the bodywork and the wheelsets, not to mention as-yet unknown hidden damage behind the paneling. Said on observer of the incident: “Unloading of the locos did not start until 14.30 and unusually continued into the hours of darkness. No. 12 broke through the deck and landed on top of food products. The only good thing is that it was the last loco to be lifted out and not the first, as otherwise it would have fallen onto the others and smashed them up too. It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘Flying Banana’”. Once various initial investigations had been completed, No. 12 was removed from the hold and placed on a road trailer for secure storage within the docks. It is to be returned to Canada for component recovery and because it never left the dockside, will never have officially arrived in Britain. It will effectively have been ‘lost en route’. The ship left Newport on January 8 to unload its other cargo of grain in Belgium and was then due to head to a shipyard for repairs to its decking and pontoons, five of which were damaged in the impact. The incident is believed to be unprecedented in the modern are, which is perhaps surprising given the huge number of diesel locos built in North America that have safely shipped to the UK and Europe during the last decade or so. As we closed for press, No. 70012 was still in Newport awaiting a ship back to the USA, where it will be returned to GE’s Eries plant for full assessment. As the damage will form part of a major insurance claim it will be stripped and examined to see whether any components can be recovered. Key items such as the power unit, alternator and compressors will need stringent testing if they are to be re-used, but the bodyshell is almost certain to be scrapped, as is the frame – leading to speculation as to whether the replacement loco will be another 70012 or whether it will take the number 70013. Class 220 220029-5491 All coaches are equipped with a Cummins QSK19 diesel engine of 750 hp (560 kW) at 1800rpm. These power a generator which supplies current to motors driving two axles per coach,[6] with one axle per bogie powered. Voyagers have both air and rheostatic brakes. They are fitted with Dellner couplers, like the Class 390 Pendolino electric trains used by Virgin West Coast meaning they can be coupled in the event of a failure. As the computer hardware, software and electrical systems are not fully compatible they are not coupled in normal service.[citation needed] 220s and 221s can also be easily assisted by Dellner fitted Class 57s (Thunderbirds) in the event of a failure. By use of adaptive couplings a failed 220 or 221 can also be assisted by any air braked locomotive such as a Class 37, 47 or 66 or even an HST. The Class 220s and closely related Class 222s have B5005 bogies which are distinctive as they are of inside frame design and hence the axles are supported by bearings behind the wheels, meaning the outside face of the wheel is visible. The related Class 221 Super Voyager has outside frame bogies and hence have a more conventional appearance. The Class 220s operate in four coach sets with a carriage mass of between 45 and 48 tonnes and a total train weight of 185.6 tonnes, a top speed of 125 mph (200 km/h) and a maximum range of approximately 1,350 miles (2,170 km) between each refuelling. Their route availability is very good being RA 2 - in part due to the lightweight bogie design. All Voyagers are maintained at the dedicated Central Rivers TMD near Burton-on-Trent. Technical problems and incidents The roof mounted resistors for the rheostatic (dynamic) brakes have caused a number of incidents: In one incident, a small piece of wood from a tree had become lodged in these grids, which started a fire on the roof of the train as it stopped in Banbury railway station.[citation needed] Units have also been stopped by salt water, when storm-driven waves broke over the train at Dawlish in south Devon and inundated the resistor banks, causing the control software to shut down. This problem was fixed by an upgrade to the control software. There were a number of exhaust fires on the Voyager class during 2005–2006 due to incorrect fitting of equipment during overhauls. Fires occurred at Starcross (Class 221), Newcastle and on 19 January 2006 at Congleton. On 14 March 2008, 220 012, forming a service to Derby, caught fire at Banbury. This fire was caused by a bird getting caught under one of the hot brake resistors on the roof of the train. PARTS 1)Aluminium (this is what I recommend, but if you can’t get these sizes you can adjust the dimensions of the slider). a)25 x 25 x 3mm U channel 1 meter long, 2 off. If you want to add a motor to drive the slider you will need 40 x 40 x 3mm U channel. All dimensions below assume 25 mm. b)50mm x 3 mm flat bar, 1.4 meters long. c)3mm flat plate, 160 mm x 140 mm 2)20 Pop rivets (I used 4mm diameter and long enough to hold 9 mm thick. 3)4 rubber feet (screw on or glue on) 4)4 roller wheels 5)4 ? BSW bolts 20mm long 6)4 ? BSW nuts, recommend wing nuts for easy adjustments. 7)12 ? Washers. TOOLS 1)Drill (I highly recommend you get a drill press as they are about the same price as a good quality hand held drill and will give you a significantly better result). You just need somewhere to mount it. You can get away with hand drill for this project. 2)Saw (Power cut off saw will give more accurate cuts), but hand hack saw is fine with this project as none of the cuts need to be precise. 3)? inch BSW Tap (to tap the tripod mounting holes). 4)Pop rivet tool. 5)Drill bits a)4mm for pop rivets b)Number Drill 9 (5.1 mm) for tapping ? BSW thread c)? in for drilling roller mounting holes. d)Counter Sink or simply a big drill bit. 6)Centre punch 7)Clamps 8)Metal file (flat and ? in round). PROCESS Cut 8 pieces of 50x3mm flat bar, 150 mm long. There will be two on the top, one on each end. There will be 6 on the bottom in 3 groups. You double up on the bottom, to make it stronger and give more depth to tap the ? BSW threads to attach to tripods. Drill holes for rivets in the flat bar to attach to U channel. If using 25mm U channel drill 2 equal spaced holes 12mm from the end. Mark out one plate, centre punch and drill. You can use this plate as a template to drill all the other plates, or stack and drill them all at once. These holes don’t have to be accurately aligned as you will drill through these holes into the U channel anyway. Take 3 of the plates and counter sink the rivet holes. These will be the plates which go on the bottom. You want a flat bottom so the rivets don’t get in the way of the rubber feet or tripod mounts. You don’t need to do this for the top. You should make sure that the U channel rails are as parallel as possible so that the sider carriage will slide smoothly. To achieve this you should use lots of clamps to hold everything in place while drilling and riveting. Stack 2 flat plates on each end of the U channel, clamp, drill and rivet. Then mount a single top plate on each end of the U channel. Doing this last will allow you to fine adjust the width of the channel with a clamp. Then mount the final 2 stack in the middle bottom. If any of the bottom rivets protrude above the surface, file these flat so they won’t interfere with the tripod mounts. Drill and tap the ? BSW threads in the centre of each of the double bottom plates to allow attaching to tripods. Also drill and tap the bottom plates to attach the rubber feet. Mark out the carriage such that the centre points of the roller wheels will be the correct width of your rail. You need to get this accurate to a few mm or the carriage will either jam or fall out. Drill the 4 holes. You should use the round file to elongate the holes on one side so that you can make small adjustments to the width of the rollers. Drill a ? in hole in centre of carriage to mount your camera. Mount the roller wheels as: Bolt, washer, plate, washer, wheel, washer, nut. Mount one side then slip into rail then mount the elongated hole side and adjust width to give a smooth action. Attach your rubber feet. Happy Sliding. It's the shuttle to the Airstream factory where I had the wheel bearings repacked, and to try and chase down an electrical short (and failed). I tossed this little clip together after realizing I've never seen my own trailer in motion from the outside. It's kind of fun to watch it waddle along... though I'm also reminded that it needs a new axle sooner or later. Towards the end of the clip, you can see the polishing progress. I did the front corner panel at the beginning of spring, while a demo was performed on a small section below the back window at Alumapalooza. IMG 1987 Trailer is Mindefab type. An axle shaft extends from the differential out to the end of the wheel to transfer the power (power goes from the engine, to the transmission, to the drive shaft, to the differential, to the axle shaft, and out to the wheels).... Oil from the differential travels along the axle shaft out to wheel where it lubricates the wheel bearings. The oil is held within the wheel assembly on one side by the plate and gasket on the end of the axle shaft... and then held in on the other side by the wheel seal. You can see in this picture the eight small studs that accept the axle shaft plate, and in the rear of the wheel, the rear set of the wheel bearings. Project Worksheet 113/365 Today I put a worksheet together for my different collections. I made headers to check a column if it's a web task, or photo or fabricate or design. So, for example, if I'm ready to "make" something, I can see what's needed in the fabricate column. I try not to make lists, because they take more time and put stress on me. But at this point, I am very close to getting things done and need a list. "Doll" worksheet This is the worksheet for doll in which i figured out the layout of each page, such as having the backstory along the borders. I thought that this would make the book more visually interesting inside, as well as create a little mystery for the reader to solve. This is also where I decided on the front cover design- having a "3d" paper doll that would be photocopied for an interesting final effect.
