Vicki Salisbury is the director of an art gallery and a jazz singer performing at local entertainment venues. Thirteen months ago Vicky started a relationship with a dog called Remy that has opened a new world for her. Once afraid of dogs Vicky now walks twice a day at the dog exercise beach throwing ball with Remy while mingling with other dogs and their owners in the evening and enjoying the tranquillity of the sunrise in the early morning.

“It is such a gorgeous way to start the day”, Vicky explains. “Mornings are my time when Remy comes with me and we walk quietly enjoying the meditating effect of the sunrise. Afternoons are for Remy when we throw the ball and she plays in the waves and meets other dogs. It has totally changed my scene having Remy and I go to places in dog world I never knew existed before she came into my life."

“After playing at dog beach I especially enjoy taking her to what I think is a funky dog wash where she has a complete grooming treatment with a soapy bath, flea control and a blow dry. All new techniques I have mastered since becoming pals with Remy.”

“We go shopping at the dog supermarket and I chat with other customers and talk about their dogs and what they do similar to shopping in a regular supermarket when I stop and enquire about the family. On one particular occasion I met an owner with a dog who was very ill and she told me about the vet treatments. As I have not seen them recently I wonder how the dog is.”

Each week the pair attend dog training classes and while Remy is very playful and not always following the instructions, with Vicky’s patience she is quickly learning to sit, stay and come when called.

Vicky says, “On special days we visit the dog-cafe and it is funny because while I have a cappuccino Remy has her own dog-a-chino.”

“This is my scene and I love it,” laughs Vicky.

Oh I loved my grandpa...who is of course long gone. I am guessing I am about 2-1/2 years old here. I know it is Easter cuz of the bunny and the Easter dress. This was our living room or "front room" as we used to call it .. in our brownstone apartment which was located in the southside of Chicago, IL. I sure wish that newspaper was readable at 100%..that would have been interesting! Scanned this from my old slides after reading some directions; removed some of the spots and removed some of the scratches..left some in..after all the slide itself is 51 years old!!!!!!!!!! Then I used a little bit of Nik glamour glow effect which I liked..the possibilities of editing are of course, endless...

As per my prior scanned photo..seen below..if anyone has any scanning techniques and restoration information on old slides..which are scratched with weird dirt spots..let me know! Thanks ;-D

Oh I just noticed that old car you can see the rear end of thru the window..what did we used to call those fender thingies that were pointy and sharp?? besides dangerous? ;-D OmG I have to go to bed! 2 am! eeks work in the a.m.!

OOPS still here..I am comparing myself to the image of my granddaughter Calista .. you can see it on the righthand side on the cover of the familygetty2010 set...hmm...sorta see some resemblance..(PS: these line up on my monitor as seen in the new Flickr view...)

OH I am still here..I just mapped this..and pinpointed on the map exactly my street I grew up on in Chicago...7801 S. Winchester Avenue, Chicago, IL...I can still remember our phone number (TR4-9046)...funny! I can't remember what I had for breakfast though..lol... If you click the dot on the map it will show you the streets!
