Best Diesel Oil Filter
- a heavy mineral oil used as fuel in diesel engines
- A petroleum fraction composed primarily of aliphatic (linear of unbranched) hydrocarbons. Diesel oil is slightly heavier than kerosene.
- Diesel fuel in general is any liquid fuel used in diesel engines. The most common is a specific fractional distillate of petroleum fuel oil, but alternatives that are not derived from petroleum, such as biodiesel, biomass to liquid (BTL) or gas to liquid (GTL) diesel, are increasingly being
- A screen, plate, or layer of a substance that absorbs light or other radiation or selectively absorbs some of its components
- an electrical device that alters the frequency spectrum of signals passing through it
- remove by passing through a filter; "filter out the impurities"
- device that removes something from whatever passes through it
- A porous device for removing impurities or solid particles from a liquid or gas passed through it
- A device for suppressing electrical or sound waves of frequencies not required

Rover JET 1
In the 1950s Rover was regarded as the staid wheels of the well-heeled. They went about life in their own snooty way, and you would hardly have guessed the company had a tiger by the tail. It was called JET 1 and was the first gas turbine-powered car. During the late stages of WWII, Rover had been intended as the main producer of the new Whittle jet engine for aircraft while Rolls-Royce was working flat-out on Merlin and Griffon piston engines. But development work soon turned to a small gas turbine suitable for powering a motor car. Work began in 1946, and the finished vehicle was unveiled in 1950.
In 1952 JET 1 was fitted with an upgraded engine and achieved a world record speed for gas turbine cars of 152mph. When launched, the gas turbine `jet' engine was seen as a symbol of modernity and of British technical prowess. Many viewed it as the power source of the future but shortcomings began to surface such as massive fuel consumption and slowness to respond to the throttle. JET 1 was built with the engine positioned behind the seats with air intake grilles on either side of the car and exhaust outlets on the top of the tail.
During tests, the RAC recorded an acceleration speed of 0-60mph in a rather leisurely 14 seconds. JET 1 ran on petrol, paraffin or diesel oil, but consumption was sky high at 5-7 miles per gallon. Rover and the BRM Formula 1 team joined forces to produce a gas turbine-powered coupe, which entered the 1963 LeMans 24-hour race, driven by Graham Hill and Richie Ginther. It averaged 173 km/h and had a top speed of 229 km.
JET 1 was placed on permanent display in the Making the Modern World gallery in the Science Museum, and was one of the stars of the show in the 1950s. - from Ian Johnson's article on the car in the Evening Chronicle (not sure of the date).
betaHDR-test- night shot
a old photo reworked as i have been unable to get out and take some shots because the car has been off the road for 4 days now
i took it for a oil and filter change and they left the oil cap off the oil got low after a few days and it stopped running it will not start so if there's any diesel mechanics out there that may have a idea why it wont start i would be interested to know because the garage aint got a clue:)
best diesel oil filter
Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck reduces low-temperature sludge build-up and high-temperature deposits through excellent thermal and oxidation stability. High temperatures pose little threat as Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck maintains its viscosity and has enhanced oil film strength, helping to reduce engine scuffing and bore polishing. It also provides wear protection and reduced oil consumption with its shear stability. Engineered to help extend engine life in modern turbo-charged diesel engines, this formula meets the latest industry standards, including CI-4 Plus, and exceeds the requirements for both light duty and heavy duty diesel equipment. For diesel engines, Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck meets CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-4 and CF. It is recommended for diesel-powered pickup trucks built by Ford, General Motors, GMC and Dodge and meets diesel engine requirements of Cummins, Powerstroke, Duramax and Navistar. Fully synthetic Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 is engineered for hard-working diesel engines. It offers outstanding wear protection, oil consumption control and performance reserve.
